其實,上面一個題目涉及到虛擬語氣,這是同學們學習英語語法的一個難點。虛擬語氣是動詞的一種特殊形式,表示動作或狀態不是客觀存在的事實(這個事實可以與現在、過去和將來相反),而是說話人的主觀願望、假設或推測等。虛擬語氣的常用結構是:
(1)表示與現在事實相反的假設和結果,從句動詞的時態使用過去時,主句動詞的時態為would/could/should/might +V.(動詞原形),就構成了與現在相反的虛擬。如: If Newton lived today, he would be surprised by what has been discovered in science and technology.
(2)表示與過去事實相反的假設和結果,從句動詞的時態使用過去完成時,主句動詞的時態采用would/could/should/might+have+p.p.(動詞的過去分詞)的形式,就構成了與過去相反的虛擬。如: If I had been here yesterday,I would surely have helped you out.
(3)表示與將來事實可能相反的假設和結果,從句動詞的時態可以使用過去時,should+V.或者were to do的形式,主句使用would/could/should/might +V.(動詞原形)。如: If I were to have a whole year off, I would travel around the world.
由於我們在日常交際英語中對不同的語法結構使用頻率不一樣,因此有些語法規則便沒有辦法通過日常運用而爛熟於心。等到練習和考試時,真的遇到這樣的問題,就不免會有些茫然。如果同學們伴著英文歌曲優美的旋律,把歌詞同時印刻在腦子裡,相信在遇到與歌詞類似的題目時,做起來就會易如反掌。
當然,一定有同學會問,我怎麼能看出歌詞裡的語法結構和有用的詞呢?這就要求同學們做學習的有心人。很多同學往往認為,要練習語法,就得做大量的語法題,其實這是一個誤區。我們在平時接觸的英文中,是沒有什麼『單選』的,而幾乎都是完整、流暢的文字。其中的語法需要我們借由獲得的知識在學習中認識和發現,換句話說,你要在聽讀中印證學習的語法。特別對於學習中的重點和難點,更是要有學習的熱情和發現的『敏感』,這樣纔能自然而然地采擷一切對你學習有用的東西。通過英文歌詞記憶語法結構和詞語,既輕松又事半功倍,你不妨選一首你喜歡的做一個嘗試。
